REVIEW IN GUIDES
" Count Louis de Lauriston was the moving spirit behind "legal" Calvados in the Domfrontais region. In 1962 this man of passion achieved the exploit of making peace between the excise men and the illicit distillers - a widespread pastime in Domfront in years gone by - after a memorable skirmish. He found a co-operative to market farm-produced Calvados with the brand name "Comte Louis de LAURISTON". In 1992, Christian Drouin became a partner in the Chais du Verger Normand. Louis de Lauriston also fought to obtain an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée label. The Count has now passed on but his combat has borne fruit: the Calvados of the Domfront has obtained its Appellation. The high percentage of perry pears gives the Calvados of the Domfront area a pleasing fruity character and rustic charm."
Martine Nouet - Le Guide des Eaux-de-vie - 1998 - Editions Hermé

"The Louis de Lauriston brand displays the potential and the memory of those varieties of Calvados that possess true character and speak the language of seduction through their delicate fruity aroma and generous fullness. This is already apparent in the VSOP, much more in the Hors d'Age and above all in the 1975, 1969 and 1964 Vintages."

Calvados Comte Louis de Lauriston : "A great Calvados typical of the Domfront region, in which 30% of pears are blended with the apples. A brand of very high quality produced by the farmers of the region. A great address where you are sure to be satisfied."
